Description
Pansto Slurry Pump Volute liners are interchangeable with Warman AH/HH/L/M slurry pump volute lines, It is also one of wetted parts for slurry pumps.
What is Pansto Slurry Pump Volute Liner?
Slurry pump Volute Liner is an important wear part of slurry pumps. It forms a slurry pump chamber with throat bush and frame plate liner insert where the slurry would flow through them. Slurry volute Liner is a curved funnel increasing in area to the discharge port. It is often used with slurry pump impeller. As the area of the cross-section increases, the volute reduces the speed of the liquids and increases the pressure of the liquids. The main purposes of a volute liner is to help balance the hydraulic pressure on the shaft of the slurry pump.

Structure & Diagram
Pansto high-quality high chrome alloy slurry pump volute liner is designed to meet the rigorous demands of heavy-duty slurry applications, making it suitable for continuously transporting high-concentration, strongly abrasive slurries containing large solid particles. Below is the basic assembly diagram of AH/PH series heavy-duty slurry pumps featuring a high chrome alloy impeller.
Features & Advatages
1. Functions:
The primary function of the volute liner is to direct the flow of the slurry from the pump’s impeller to the discharge point. The volute liner is a curved funnel that gradually expands towards the discharge port. As the cross-sectional area increases, the volute slows down the slurry speed and elevates its pressure. It helps convert the kinetic energy generated by the impeller into pressure energy, the slurry is discharged at a heightened pressure through the outlet of the volute liner.
- Closed the slurry pump impeller to a certain space, so that inhaled and forced out liquid through the role of the impeller.
- Most of Pump volute are made to be Volute-shaped, it is also called the slurry pump casing. Because the area of channel section is widening , the high speed liquid around the slurry pump impeller gradually reduce the flow velocity, and part of the kinetic energy is converted to static pressure can effectively
- The slurry pump volute liner is not only collected liquid that thrown out by the slurry pump impeller, but also an energy conversion device
- Lead evenly the liquid to the impeller, collect the high-speed flowed liquid from the pump impeller, and send to the next level or export-led.
- Realize the energy conversion, Reduce the flow speed, transform the kinetic energy to pressure energy .
- Connect other components, and play a supporting role.
2. Material:
Volute liners are typically made from materials to withstand the abrasive or corrosive nature of slurries. Common materials include high chrome alloy, rubber, or a combination of both. The polyurethane and ceramic materials are also available according to the needs of clients or unique working conditions.
3. Wear and Corrosion Resistance:
Since slurries often contain solid particles that can cause wear and tear, sometimes they can be corrosive. so that the volute liner must be designed to resist abrasion, erosion, and corrosion. This ensures a longer lifespan for the pump and reduces maintenance requirements.
4. Easy to Maintain:
This feature allows for easier maintenance and replacement of worn parts without requiring extensive disassembly of the pump, and minimal downtime.
5.Design Considerations:
The design of the volute liner is critical for optimal pump performance. It must be carefully engineered to balance factors such as efficiency, wear resistance, and ease of maintenance.
6. Rubber vs. Metal Liners:
The choice between rubber and metal volute liners depends on the specific application and the nature of the slurry being pumped. Rubber liners are often preferred for their superior abrasion and high corrosion resistance in slurry conditions containing fine particles without sharp corners, while high-chrome metal liners may be chosen for their durability in handling larger and coarser particles.

FAQ
What is a volute liner?
Volute liner is an important wear part of the slurry pumps. It, together with throat bush and frame plate liner insert, forms a slurry pump chamber where the slurry would flow through. Slurry volute Liner is a curved funnel increasing in area to the discharge port.
What are the advantages of a volute pump?
- Wide operating range in which the pumps can operate.
- The combination of a steel-mounted rotor unit placed in a volute made of concrete allows larger flows to be pumped with less quantity of pumps. …
- The CVP design has a high degree of reliability and higher efficiency.
What is the difference between volute and impeller?
A volute casing or diffuser is used to convert kinetic energy to pressure. An impeller rotates and imparts kinetic energy onto the liquid surrounding it due to friction.
